Why ‘Winter to Spring’?
The winter months from January to March can be difficult to navigate. All too often we start off the year with a strong start, making resolutions or ‘turning over a new leaf’, but very soon find ourselves exactly where we were before we started. Days are short, nights are long and dark. Going out to find the connection and community we crave can be hard.
‘Winter to Spring’ seeks to address all this, acknowledging the cycles of nature and working positively with the season instead. We will use these twelve weeks to move from the reflection and renewal of wintertime to prepare for the raised energy of spring.
There is great power in coming together once a week with the same small group of women to draw on the group’s energy and wisdom. ‘Winter to Spring’ hopes to give you the time and space to reflect on where you are in your life, identify what you might want to change and give you the tools and support to do so.

Meet Your Facilitator, Emma Dewhurst
Hello. I'm Emma - I'm a certified Transformational Life Coach in both 1:1 and Group Coaching. I'm also an actor with a career in theatre, TV and film. In fact, the arts have informed and inspired my whole life, which in turn creatively inspires my coaching methods.
I have experience of running my own small business: in 2010 I founded and ran award-winning arts magazine, WOW Kent, for six years. And my most challenging and rewarding role to date is as mother to a brilliant autistic teenager.
My own story includes huge challenges, reinvention and change. This has made me particularly interested in working with people at pivotal moments in their lives who know they need and want to change, but don't know how. This is the moment in a life where coaching can step in a make a profound difference.
You'll find my style of facilitation to be non-judgemental, intuitive and warm, with gentle challenge where needed. Extraordinary transformations happen when you allow yourself to commit to the possibility of change... I can't wait to meet you. x

Coaching ClientYOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Once you have booked, Emma will be in touch with a Welcome Pack which will include short client information form and further details about the group.
A Zoom link will be sent to you before the first meeting.
Each of the 12 sessions will be two hours long, running on Tuesday evenings from 7 – 9pm. Emma will also stay online for a further 15 minutes at the end of the session, for anyone who wishes to stay and talk more informally, ask questions, or talk through something that has come up in the session.
The group is intended as a personal development life coaching group. According to what arises within our group conversations, we could be working more deeply with any of the following: Core Values; Mindset; Self-Compassion; Limiting beliefs and Life Purpose.
Much of the content will be determined by what the group decide it wants to focus on. Emma will bring multiple group coaching exercises and approaches, which she will offer to the group as and when it feels appropriate.
At the beginning of every session there will be a time for reflection and grounding before the main body of content. These weekly reflections are intended to become an essential part of your personal growth journey. We rarely take the time to celebrate our successes and mourn the losses of our everyday lives. Similarly, we will end each session with a review, determining participants’ main insights and, if wished, action steps for the weeks ahead.
No. While the hope is that it is a supportive place, ‘Winter to Spring’ is a coaching space. This means that you actively want to bring your whole self to the group, and work within it to make the changes you want to make in your life – and help others to do the same by your contributions.
Broadly speaking, coaching stems from the belief that you are creative, resourceful and whole and already have the answers you need inside you. As a group coaching space, ‘Winter to Spring’ aims to give you the time and space and processes to think about what you need and take action going forwards. While Transformational Life Coaching (in which Emma is trained) does work with the inner world of the client, it is forward-looking and solutions-focused.
Therapy tends to address past trauma, family history etc. Often clients attend therapy prior to being coached. If you are in doubt as to what you need, you are welcome to talk with Emma via her free call.
The group size is capped at eight, to enable small groups and pair conversations in the breakout rooms, and make for lively whole-group discussions when we are all together. It also means that there will be time for every participant to speak during a session if they wish to.
Yes, every participant will receive Coaching Worksheets (pdfs) to help them to record their journey. These will include Coaching exercises, Journaling Prompts, Post-session Reflections, a Bibliography of further reading, and list of Further Resources and more.
The price of the full 12 Week Life Coaching Group programme (including Coaching Worksheet pdfs) is £225.
This can be paid in full, or in three instalments of £75, paid one month apart.
Acknowledging these difficult times, there are two low-cost places available.
Each low-cost place is £120 if paid in full, or 3 x monthly instalments of £40.
The two low-cost places operate on trust: the places will be on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis, so please only book one if you could not otherwise attend, to give someone else the opportunity, thank you.
Please note, all participants must have paid in full, or their first instalment, by the first session.
After the first session, any fees you have paid are non-refundable. If you attend the first session and decide that the life coaching group is really not a good fit for you, please contact Emma and talk it through with her. She will arrange a refund, minus the first session’s fee.
(Exceptional circumstances which mean you have to withdraw from the group like Acts of God would of course be considered on a case-by-case basis).
The success of the group largely depends on the commitment of its members. Therefore, for the sake of others, please take time to consider if you are ready to make a commitment to yourself and the group for 12 weeks.
It may be that 1:1 coaching would be more beneficial, or therapy, or another form of self-discovery.
If you are in any doubt, or have questions you would like answered before committing, you are welcome to book a free call with Emma here, to discuss joining the group.
Yes! You can come and experience my style for free in ‘Mending the Nets’, a free, weekly creative co-working space that I facilitate. This is not a coaching space as such (though I do facilitate it with coaching principles in mind): it a space for you to think, focus and work in company with others. You can book Mending the Nets on Eventbrite.
I’m also planning for ‘Winter to Spring’ to be the first of four life coaching groups that I hope to run throughout 2024.
Like ‘Winter to Spring’, they will be inspired and informed by the seasons in which they fall:
Spring to Summer
Summer to Autumn
Autumn to Winter
You can email any further questions you may have to Emma at hello[at]emmadew.com
Yes! I offer a free call to talk about the either the Group Coaching space or 1:1 Coaching. Please book here.
